Dominic Solanke Fitness Update Ahead Of Return To Bournemouth

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has provided a fitness update on Dominic Solanke ahead of his return to Bournemouth on Thursday night.

The England international missed the 1-1 draw with Fulham on Sunday due to illness. Postecoglou sent the 27-year-old home on the morning of the match.

Postecoglou told the media on the day that his star striker had been ‘under the weather’.

Solanke has made a solid start to his life playing football at Tottenham since his £65m move from Bournemouth in the summer.

He has scored six goals in 17 appearances, which led to him getting his first senior England call-up in seven years.

Postecoglou Provides Solanke Fitness Update

Tottenham will make a late call on Dominic Solanke ahead of their trip to Bournemouth, as Ange Postecoglou provided an update on his fitness.

Speaking to the media, the Australian said: “Archie (Gray) got a knock but he’s recovered well. Main one is Dom and he’s due to train today (Wednesday).

“He is still not 100 per cent but has definitely improved from the weekend. That’s it. The other injured guys are inching closer but not available.”

While doubt remains over Solanke and his fitness, a number of key first-team players will definitely miss the game.

Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Wilson Odobert are all out with injuries. Rodrigo Bentancur meanwhile is suspended.

Free-Scoring Tottenham

Tottenham missed Dominic Solanke against Fulham as they struggled to put away chances in a 1-1 draw.

Solanke had fitness issues in August and September which kept him out for a number of games.

Despite this, Tottenham are the Premier League’s top scorers with 28 in total.

Despite impressive wins over Man City, Aston Villa, West Ham, and Everton, they have also lost five games and are seventh in the table.

Tottenham will hope to get a positive fitness update on Solanke before the clash with Bournemouth on Thursday night.
