Dominic Cummings ‘advising Elon Musk’ amid attacks on Sir Keir Starmer

Elon Musk is reportedly being advised by Dominic Cummings to target Sir Keir Starmer online and attempt to undermine the prime minister.

Cummings, a key figure behind the Vote Leave campaign and a former adviser to Boris Johnson during the Covid-19 pandemic, is said to have formed a new alliance with Musk, according to reports in the Mail.

The South African-born billionaire has shifted from being largely apolitical to becoming an outspoken supporter of US president-elect Donald Trump. Musk has also begun to involve himself in British politics, backing the far-right Reform UK party, despite his rocky relationship with Nigel Farage.

Musk has accused Sir Keir of being "complicit in the crimes" of child sex offenders during his time as chief prosecutor and labelled Home Office Minister Jess Phillips a "rape genocide apologist."

His relentless tweets about grooming gangs and Starmer’s leadership are reportedly being influenced by Cummings, with the two said to be communicating via WhatsApp.

Mr Cummings infamously fell from grace after being diagnosed with covid-19 in 2020 and driving to Durham, and then to Barnard Castle to “test his eyesight”.

He departed as Mr Johnson’s chief advisor later that year but could be making a comeback by attaching himself to Mr Musk. He has previously been linked to a new Start Up Party to try and rival the ailing Conservatives and take power in 2028, but for now reports suggest that advising Mr Musk is his focus.

In recent tweets, he has called Sir Keir “evil” on Twitter, promoted a petition to have him removed from power, and also backed the far right figurehead Stephen Yaxley-Lennon - who is also known as Tommy Robinson.

During a speech in Surrey on Monday, Sir Keir said “robust debate” must be based on “facts and truth” and not on “lies from those so desperate for attention”.

“Those that are spreading lies and misinformation as far and as wide as possible, they're not interested in victims, they're interested in themselves,” Sir Keir said.

“Those who are cheerleading Tommy Robinson, who went to prison for nearly collapsing a grooming case, are not interested in justice.”
