The Miami Dolphins have a lot of positions up in the air heading into the start of free agency, but one spot they should have solidified is left tackle.
As reported a few weeks back, Dolphins left tackle Terron Armstead is expected to play in 2024 after mulling over the idea of retirement. On top of that, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has reported that the team and Armstead are working on an adjusted contract.
It’s unclear at this moment whether or not it’s a restructuring or a new deal that may change the term remaining and the compensation. Either way, it would likely save Miami some salary cap space.
At the moment, Armstead has a $20.85 million cap hit for the 2024 season and cap hits of $20.66 million in 2025 and $20.69 million in 2026, according to Over the Cap.
If it’s a contract restructuring, Miami could save $8.46 million in 2024.
