Dolphins work out 7 players on Tuesday

After the Miami Dolphins officially lost running back Darrynton Evans from their practice squad on Monday, they had an open spot that they needed to fill.

With that knowledge, the Dolphins held workouts on Tuesday that included seven players before they signed running back Jake Funk to their practice squad.

While they’ve already made the signing, it may be worth it to get familiar with those who Miami opted not to sign on Tuesday.

DE Ben Banogu

Banogu, 27, was originally selected in the second round of the 2019 draft by the Indianapolis Colts following a college career that was split between UL Monroe and TCU.

In his four seasons with the Colts, he recorded just 29 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble.

LB Quinton Bell

Bell, 27, was a seventh-round pick of the Las Vegas Raiders in 2019 after a collegiate career at Prairie View A&M.

After failing to make the Raiders roster as a rookie, Bell spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles since entering the league.

In nine career games, he’s recorded just three tackles.

RB Hassan Hall

Hall, 23, signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted this year after a collegiate career split between Louisville and Georgia Tech.

In 54 career games, he rushed for 1,820 yards and 12 touchdowns on 4.7 yards per carry, while adding another 340 yards on 50 receptions.

RB Elijah Holyfield

Holyfield, 25, was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Carolina Panthers in 2019 following a collegiate career at Georgia.

After failing to make the active roster as a rookie, Holyfield has spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals since.

In 27 career games with Georgia, he rushed for 1,350 yards and nine touchdowns on 6.2 yards per attempt.

He’s also the son of legendary boxer Evander Holyfield.

RB Jason Huntley

Huntley, 25, was a fifth-round pick of the Detroit Lions in 2020 following a collegiate career at New Mexico State.

After failing to make the Lions’ roster as a rookie, he’s spent time with the Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts since.

He’s rushed for 70 yards on 3.9 yards per attempt in six NFL games.

LB Quincy Roche

Roche, 25, was a sixth-round pick of the Steelers in 2021 following a collegiate career split between Temple and Miami.

After failing to make the Steelers roster as a rookie, he joined the New York Giants before returning to the Steelers this offseason.

In 17 NFL games, he’s recorded 40 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
