While the Miami Dolphins are still recovering and breaking down the film from their win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, there’s a quick turnaround to their matchup with the New York Jets on Friday afternoon at MetLife Stadium.
And, while the scouting and coaching staff may have prepping for the Jets to continue starting Zach Wilson at quarterback, Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced a change at the position, as Tim Boyle will start on Friday.
Boyle, 29, was an undrafted free agent signed by the Green Bay Packers in 2018 following a collegiate career that was split between UConn and Eastern Kentucky.
In 18 career appearances, he’s completed 60.8% of his passes for 607 yards with three touchdowns and nine interceptions for a 50.9 passer rating.
He’s 0-3 as a starter, and all three of those losses came with the Detroit Lions back in 2021.
Miami’s defense has really come into their own in recent weeks, and this matchup against a backup quarterback behind a struggling, injured offensive line should result in a strong performance for the group.
