Dolphins waive three UDFAs after rookie minicamp sessions

After selecting four players in the 2023 NFL draft and signing 21 undrafted free agents, the Miami Dolphins began their rookie minicamp on Friday, which included all of those first-year players and others who received invites.

However, after just two days, the Dolphins have waived three members of their undrafted class – offensive linemen Jarrett Horst, Alex Jensen and DJ Scaife Jr.

Horst started in 34 of his 35 college games for Michigan State and Arkansas State. Jensen started 38 games at left tackle for South Dakota, earning second-team All-Missouri Valley honors twice. Scaife, who spent his collegiate career playing at Hard Rock Stadium, saw starts at guard and tackle, earning second-team All-ACC honors once.

It’s unclear what Miami’s coaching staff saw in just two practices to warrant moving on, but they acted swiftly, and now have four roster spots until they reach their 90-man limit.

With the current status of the offensive line, the Dolphins should probably still look to invest in the trenches somehow. Perhaps one of the various try-out players can earn a contract after the completion of rookie minicamp.
