Dolphins swap practice squad players, elevated two to the active roster

The Miami Dolphins, prior to their Week 11 battle with the Las Vegas Raiders announced a number of moves regarding their practice squad.

Running back Jake Funk was released from the practice squad. He was signed by Miami last month, but he was never elevated to the active roster. With De’Von Achane coming back from injured reserve, they don’t necessarily need the depth at the position.

To fill his spot, the Dolphins have signed wide receiver Robbie Chosen, who they released from the 53-man roster to make room for Achane.

For the game against the Raiders, the Dolphins have elevated Chosen and offensive lineman Chasen Hines.

This is Chosen’s second elevation this season after being brought up for the Week 3 battle with the Denver Broncos. In that game, he hauled in a long touchdown from backup quarterback Mike White.

This is Hines’ first elevation since joining Miami’s practice squad after roster cuts. He was originally a sixth-round pick of the New England Patriots after a collegiate career at LSU. He hasn’t played a snap in the NFL yet, but during his time at LSU, he started 16 games at right guard and one at left guard.

With the Dolphins starting two backup guards and being without one depth guard in Robert Jones, Hines could be thrust into playing time if Liam Eichenberg or Lester Cotton were to go down.
