The Miami Dolphins are signing former Pro Bowl quarterback Tyler Huntley from the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Huntley, 26, has spent most of his career with the Ravens, although he did spend this offseason with the Cleveland Browns before re-joining Baltimore as a member of the practice squad earlier this month.
In the last four seasons, Huntley appeared in 20 games and made nine starts. He has eight career touchdown passes and seven interceptions with three rushing touchdowns.
In 2022, Huntley earned Pro Bowl honors, albeit as an alternate, after taking over for Lamar Jackson late in the year and helping Baltimore make the postseason. He started in the Ravens’ playoff game too, but a 98-yard fourth quarter fumble return for the Cincinnati Bengals led to a first-round exit for Baltimore.
The Dolphins were in the market for another passer with Tua Tagovailoa sidelined due to a concussion suffered Thursday night. Tagovailoa reportedly “has no plans to retire” and the Dolphins plan to turn to Skylar Thompson as the next man up, but the team still needed another passer to add to the mix.
