Dolphins sign LB Melvin Ingram to their active roster

The Miami Dolphins have had a number of injuries at linebacker in recent weeks, as they’ve lost Jaelan Phillips, Bradley Chubb, Jerome Baker, Andrew Van Ginkel, Cameron Goode and Alexander Johnson for the season.

After signing Justin Houston and Bruce Irvin on Tuesday, the Dolphins had one open roster spot left, and they filled it by signing Melvin Ingram off of their own practice squad on Wednesday.

Ingram, 34, was elevated for Miami’s final three games of the season, recording seven tackles (one for a loss) and 1.5 sacks on 47% of the team’s defensive snaps.

The Dolphins filled Ingram’s practice squad spot with Malik Reed, who the team was reported to sign on Tuesday.

With all of the losses at the position, it wouldn’t be surprising to see all three new members of the roster and practice squad play on Saturday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
