Dolphins sign former Steelers WR to future contract

While many still have their eyes on the NFL playoffs, the Miami Dolphins are focused on the future of their franchise.

After signing eight of their own practice squad players to reserve/future contracts on Tuesday, the Dolphins announced that they signed wide receiver Matthew Sexton to a future contract on Wednesday.

Sexton, 26, played collegiately at Eastern Michigan, recording 100 receptions for 1,335 yards and nine touchdowns in 43 games.

He was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2021 after playing in The Spring League. Since then, he’s bounced around with the Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots and even the Vegas Vipers of the XFL. He’s yet to play in a regular-season NFL game.
