Two dolphins stranded on a Scots beach have been saved after an emergency operation was launched.
The alert was raised by Aberdeen Coastguard around 11.15am on Wednesday morning after the dolphins were spotted at Monifieth beach.
It prompted a multi-agency response to get them back in the water and members of the public were asked to stay away to allow the mission to take place.
The RNLI in Brought Ferry also worked alongside British Divers Maritime Life Rescue volunteers and despite re-beachings, they were able to get rescue the two dolphins successfully within 90 minutes.
Photos from the scene show crews carrying the sea mammals from shallow to deeper water before they were able to re-float.
