Dolphins release Braylon Sanders, Wyatt Ray from IR with settlements

The Miami Dolphins cleared wide receiver Braylon Sanders and defensive end Wyatt Ray from the injured reserve Wednesday with a pair of settlements, according to the NFL transaction wire.

Sanders and Ray both landed on the Dolphins’ IR last week when the team made its final cuts to 53 players, along with running back Chris Brooks, offensive lineman Ryan Hayes, and cornerback Cam Smith. Earlier this week, the Dolphins reached an injury settlement with Brooks that cleared him from IR as well.

While a reunion with any of the three is possible, it’s unlikely as the Dolphins aren’t allowed to sign a contract with a player released from the injured reserve for several weeks (three weeks plus the time agreed to in the settlement).

Sanders, 25, spent the last two seasons with the Dolphins after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2022. While the majority of that time was spent on the practice squad, Sanders appeared in three regular season games and caught two passes for 17 yards.

Ray, 27, signed with the Dolphins in August after a stint with the San Antonio Brahmas of the UFL.
