The Miami Dolphins confirmed Mike McDaniel’s beliefs on Tuesday, as they placed safety Brandon Jones on injured reserve following a knee injury that the former Longhorn suffered against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jones’ absence will be tough to make up, but Clayton Fejedelem, Eric Rowe and Verone McKinley III will have to be up to the task.
However, that wasn’t the only move that Miami announced on Tuesday. They also signed wide receiver Calvin Jackson Jr. to the practice squad. This comes after NFL agent David Canter shared that his client, Jamal Perry, was joining the practice squad as well.
Jackson, who once starred in Netflix’s “Last Chance U,” was supposed to work out for the Dolphins this offseason, but he signed with the New York Jets before he had the chance.
The wideout has been without a team since New York released him from their practice squad before Week 1.
His name may be familiar to Dolphins fans, as his father, who went by the same name, played for Miami from 1994-99.
