The 2022 NFL draft is now less than a week away, and teams are continuing to conduct their pre-draft visits with prospects that could be selected in this year’s event.
The Miami Dolphins added another defensive player to their list of those that they’ve met with, as they’ve met with Fresno State cornerback DaRon Bland, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Bland, who stands at 6 feet and weighs 197 pounds, transferred to Fresno State for his final collegiate season after spending his first three seasons with Sacramento State. In 2021, he recorded 45 total tackles, five passes defended, two interceptions and a forced fumble.
During his career at Sacramento State, he totaled 92 tackles, 13 passes defended, three interceptions, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovered and one sack.
Bland ran a 4.48-second 40-yard dash and a 7.26-second three-cone drill while recording a 35-inch vertical jump at his pro day.
At this time, he’s seen as a developmental project with impressive physical traits. He’s expected to be a potential late-round pick, meaning the Dolphins could grab him with one of their seventh-round selections or add him as an undrafted free agent.
