Dolphins LB Jerome Baker shares heartfelt message after surgery

The Miami Dolphins lost a lot more than the game on Sunday night to the Buffalo Bills, as they also lost three linebackers for the remainder of the season.

One of them, Jerome Baker, who has been with the Dolphins for six seasons, has already had season-ending wrist surgery since the game ended, and on Monday, he shared a message for his fans and teammates on social media.

Baker has been one of the most important pieces on Miami’s defense for years now, and his absence will truly be felt, as it was the four weeks prior when he was on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Now, the Dolphins will have to rely on David Long Jr., Duke Riley, Channing Tindall and Calvin Munson in the middle of Vic Fangio’s unit going forward. That’s an area that other teams will try to exploit in the postseason.

The 27-year-old technically has three years left on his contract after this year, but the final two years are voided after 2024. And, with Miami in the cap position that they’re in next year, there’s no guarantee he’s even on the roster for Week 1. So, there’s a real chance that Baker has played his last game in aqua and orange, and that’s sad to think about.
