After the conclusion of the 2023 NFL draft, the Miami Dolphins, along with the other 31 teams, have been signing undrafted players and have recently begun extending invites to their rookie minicamp.
One player who received an invite is Duke cornerback Datrone Young, according to KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson.
Young transferred to Duke for 2022 after four seasons at Iowa State. In his 49 collegiate games, he recorded 137 tackles (five for a loss), 14 passes defended and two interceptions.
The cornerback attended Miami’s local pro day, as he is a product of Atlantic Community High School in Delray Beach, Florida, which is just over 40 miles from Hard Rock Stadium.
Young’s chances of receiving a contract are slim, due to the Dolphins’ depth at the position. However, he could always impress coaches like cornerbacks coach Sam Madison and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.
