The Miami Dolphins are back to work at their facilities after enjoying a week off, and some reinforcements are joining the team at practice.
On Monday, head coach Mike McDaniel informed the media that running back De’Von Achane has been designated to return, and he will practice this week.
Achane was placed on injured reserve after he suffered a knee injury during the team’s Week 5 win over the New York Giants.
The rookie made a real difference to the offense in the three games where he got real touches. This season, he’s recorded 460 yards and five touchdowns on an incredible 12.1 yards per attempt while adding another 67 yards and two scores on nine receptions.
Miami has 21 days now to activate the former Aggie, or he’ll be forced to miss the remainder of the season.
If he’s ready to go this weekend, Achane could immediately help open things up for other weapons that share the huddle with him and give McDaniel another potential superstar to design plays for.
