Dolphins CB Jalen Ramsey is ahead of rehab schedule, could return to practice soon

The Miami Dolphins haven’t had the best luck with injuries so far this season.

Through their first five games, left tackle Terron Armstead, center Connor Williams, linebacker Jaelan Phillips, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and safety DeShon Elliott have all missed time.

Running back De’Von Achane was placed on injured reserve this past week.

However, arguably the biggest injury that the team has dealt with has been the loss of cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who the Dolphins acquired in a trade this offseason. Ramsey went down with a meniscus injury in just his second training camp practice with Miami.

As Ramsey’s been recovering from his injury, there’s some good news. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the cornerback is “far ahead of schedule” and could return to practice as soon as this week.

Once Ramsey begins practicing, the Dolphins will have 21 days to activate him, or he’ll be forced to miss the remainder of the season.

After this week’s matchup with the Carolina Panthers, they have the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs in two of the following three games. Miami may consider adding him back to take on two of the best teams in the league.

It also wouldn’t be surprising to see them continue to let him recover and get back to close to 100% before he takes the field, as they’ll need him for the stretch run.
