The Miami Dolphins have a number of needs they need to address this offseason, but it appears they’ve agreed to their first free agent deal.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Dolphins have agreed on a two-year deal with former New York Jets quarterback Mike White. The deal is said to be worth up to $16 million.
White, 27, was a fifth-round selection of the Dallas Cowboys in 2018. However, he didn’t get playing time until he joined the New York Jets. Over the last two seasons, White has completed 62.2% of his passes for 2,145 yards with eight touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
The Jets had a 2-5 record with him as a starter.
Interestingly enough, White spoke earlier this offseason about being intrigued by returning to Miami (he’s from Pembroke Pines, Florida), and now he appears to be joining the team in his home state.
When the deal becomes official, he’ll likely slide between Tua Tagovailoa and Skylar Thompson on the depth chart.
