Dolly Parton has launched a new accessory line for pups called Doggy Parton

Dolly Parton has playfully named her new accessory business for dogs, Doggy Parton.

The Country legend launched the new business venture - a line of dog apparel and accessories - on Wednesday.

The line will feature shirts, dresses, squeaky toys and even a Dolly Parton-style curly blonde wig.

The 76-year-old actress and singer said in a statement: "Puppy Love was my very first record [recorded in 1959 at age 13] and six decades later, my love for pets is stronger than ever.

"This inspired me to start my own line of Doggy Parton apparel, accessories, toys and more with a little 'Dolly' flair."

She also wrote on Instagram: "Today my new @doggyparton collection officially launches, and your pet can sparkle too!

"Part of the proceeds will support @willabfarm, a rescue where animals in need find never-ending love."

Alongside another post with a video showing her pretending to blow dry the blond wig on pup Billy the Kid, she jokingly wrote in the pooch's voice: "I will always love you, Dolly Mama. Thank you for my @doggyparton wig and accessories."

The clip had her classic song I Will Always Love You, which was famously covered by the late Whitney Houston, playing in the background.

Parton's website for the brand currently redirects visitors to Amazon.com, which has just over 20 items available, including dresses and shirts for dogs.

There are also an array of chewy Dolly-themed toys, including a microphone, guitar and hot pink.

Parton’s next project will see her cast alongside goddaughter Miley Cyrus in the NBC holiday TV movie Mountain Magic Christmas. (CW Disney)

Earlier this week, NBC announced that the Jolene singer's pop-star goddaughter Miley Cyrus had been cast opposite her in the holiday TV movie Mountain Magic Christmas.

The film, which doesn't yet have a release date, is described as "a modern-day movie musical about the making of a network TV special."
