Doja Cat's mother has alleged that the singer had her teeth knocked out by her abusive brother in a shocking new lawsuit.
Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer has filed a temporary restraining order against Raman Dalithando Dlamini, 30, claiming he has been "physically and verbally abusive" towards Doja – real name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini – according to US news outlet TMZ.The filing claims that the Kiss Me More hit-maker was left with "cuts and bruises" after an altercation with her sibling, which also led to her property being destroyed.
It further alleges that the Grammy Award winner has been left feeling "unsafe and traumatised" by his actions with the most recent incident said to have occurred an unspecified date earlier this month.
Ms Sawyer has been granted the order by a judge, but Doja has been advised that she would need to file for herself to continue.
The Standard has contacted a representative for Doja Cat for comment.
The singer has previously stressed her desire to maintain her private life despite her celebrity and success.
The news comes after Doja was announced as a headliner at the 2024 Coachella music festival alongside No Doubt and Lana Del Rey.
She is also set to tour the UK this June with her Scarlet Tour in support of her fourth studio album Scarlet, which was released last September.
This marks her first European headline tour for which she will be playing two nights at the London O2 Arena on June 14 and 17.
