DOJ Directs Drop Of Case Against NYC Mayor Eric Adams

The Department of Justice has instructed the Southern District of New York to drop its current case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams, as per a memo obtained from a reliable source. The memo, issued by Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, a former SDNY prosecutor, directed the Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District to dismiss the charges promptly, with a condition for a review post the November 2025 mayoral election.

Last year, the Southern District of New York had filed public corruption charges against Mayor Adams, marking the first instance of prosecuting a sitting mayor in the city's recent history. The trial for this case was set to commence this spring.
