Doireann Garrihy admits she sought help after finding herself in a 'weird' place

Dancing With The Stars host Doireann Garrihy has said she sought help from a psychologist after finding herself in a "weird" place in her life.

The RTE star reveals she enlisted the help of Allison Keating to help her "figure out everything that she needed to figure out" in her life.

Doireann, who split from Paddy Wilson early last year, will have Allison on her Doireann and Friends podcast this week, where the pair will open up about their first meeting.

Speaking on her Instagram Stories, Doireann said: "I just wanted to introduce on my (Instagram) Stories, the brilliant Allison Keating. I reached out to Allison about a year and a half ago. I was in a weird place in my life personally and I needed to figure things out in my head, so I reached out to Allison, obviously. I thought it would be scary. She couldn’t be more brilliant and amazing. Her voice and her knowledge and the way she helped me figure everything out that I need to figure out in my life."

Doireann said she will be "forever indebted" to Allison for helping her.

"I’ll be forever indebted to her or grateful to her for that.

"But I asked her to come on the podcast and she said yes. So we talk about where I was at when I first contacted Allison and where we went from there. Women in relationships, men in relationships, the difference, the similarities. I think it is the type of thing that if you're in a happy relationship and all is great, it’s still going to be worth your while because no doubt there is a sister or a friend or someone in your life who could benefit from it.

"So you listening to it could be helpful to them.

"I think this is the kind of episode that if you are having a tough time in a relationship, this could give you a ‘oh god’ but ultimately that is for the best because if it helps you figure out what you need to do then that is a good thing.

"Do you know what I’m alluding to girls? Do we know what the subliminal message was?," she said jokingly.
