The UK's 'most mischievous pet' has been chosen following a nationwide search. The dog called Teddy has a knack for stealing household items - with anything from unattended shoes to milk cartons from the bin being fair game for the Great Dane.
Teddy comes from Larne in Northern Ireland. He was picked as the country's cheekiest pet through a competition run by photographic retailer Wex Photo Video.
The dog, described as "boisterous and energetic", is owned by Chris Jordan who captured his talent for making off with everyday objects in an amusing photo.
Chris said: "He is renowned for taking things from around the house and claiming them as his own. I was trying to take a picture of the family but managed to catch him in the act of triumphantly trotting off with my wife’s shoe. He certainly knows how to steal the show."
Other finalists included Truffle, a cockatiel from Leeds pictured sneaking away with a piece of Lego, a dog called Mouse from Leicester caught red-handed in a sea of feathers after shredding a pillow and a cat from Atherston seen clinging onto a rail for dear life after the curtains gave way.
Paul Wareham, marketing director at Wex Photo Video, said: "We were really impressed, and amused, at the level of mischief displayed by all the pets in the competition, but Teddy’s cunning shoe-stealing skills and the beautiful resulting photograph by his owner proved him a worthy winner. The overwhelming response we had to the competition highlights the deep bond we form with our pets – and how the perfect photo can capture their playful characters."
Chris won a camera and a pet photoshoot with dog photographer Cat Race.
