Officers are appealing for information after a dog walker was hit by a car on a busy Salford road. The pedestrian, a man in his 60s, was walking with his dog on Great Clowes Street.
Greater Manchester Police says that as the man walked near to the junction with Gordon Street, a car collided with him. Emergency services rushed out to the scene, and the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
GMP says the driver remained at scene following the incident at around 7.30pm on Tuesday (December 13) and is assisting officers with enquiries. In a statement issued this morning (Sunday), the force says no arrests have been made.
GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. The unit is also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage - including dashcam or mobile phone footage - from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
