A dog walker was left awestruck after capturing her very own Mission Impossible film - when her childhood hero Tom Cruise paraglided over her head then landed next to her in the Lake District.
Charlotte Burton-Delph was on holiday with her family walking around Buttermere Lake on Sunday when she saw a man gliding above the water in the distance.
As he got closer, 44-year-old Charlotte was stunned to recognise it was Top Gun star and Hollywood A-lister Cruise, who was apparently filming for Mission Impossible 8. Stunning footage shows fearless Cruise, 60, dressed in his signature black clothes, boots and gloves as he smoothly glides from left to right.
Charlotte shouts 'wow, look' in amazement as the superstar turns right above her head and descends towards the field next to her.
Cruise pulls off a standing landing and coolly runs until the blue parachute lies flat on the grass, to which Charlotte's four-year-old daughter, Audrey, showed her approval by shouting 'good!'
The teacher said her and her partner, Adrian, couldn't contain their excitement and described it as 'next-level cool' in a Twitter post. Her post has now gone viral, with more than 70,000 views. Users hailed the clip as 'awesome' and asked 'is there anything Tom Cruise can't do?'
Charlotte, from Cromer, Norfolk, said: "We were there to walk the dog, but it just so happened that we stumbled upon Tom Cruise filming Mission Impossible. It felt very surreal.
"We saw this blue parachute come around the lake and we only realised it was Tom Cruise when he came closer. It just happened that I managed to catch it on camera. It was amazing to see him glide right over our heads. It was a very cool landing. It was typical Tom Cruise.
"It was weird to be standing there watching this film star who I watched when I was younger in Top Gun. I followed him when I was younger and I still am a fan. Me and Adrian were thinking 'oh my god it's Tom Cruise, look at him he's amazing', but the kids didn't get it. We tried to compare him to Bruno from Encanto."
Charlotte said a helicopter was circling the lake and a large film crew were present in the field Cruise landed in. She said the star was 'brilliant' for waving to onlookers once he'd landed the stunt - which she says he perfectly repeated three more times.
The video has been liked more than 2,800 times and has been retweeted more than 300 times.
One user commented: "Is there nothing this bloke can't do? Awesome!" Another said: "That was mission easy peasy lol, he looked to be going quite fast there, in the breeze." A third added: "Is there nothing this bloke can't do? Awesome!"
After Mission Impossible 7's release date was delayed until July 14, 2023, Mission Impossible 8 will be released on July 28, 2024.
