A stash of cocaine found by a dog walker on a Welsh beach was worth more than £40,000,000.
The man, who wants to remain anonymous, was strolling along Tan-y-Bwlch beach, near Aberystwyth, when he found around 30 large black bags. After inspecting the bags and finding what looked like white powder, he called police.
The bags were tied together with rope, near the water's edge, on October 1. The bags were interspersed with empty plastic jugs, seemingly to keep the cargo afloat in the water, North Wales Live reports.

Police have now confirmed that the cocaine haul had a wholesale price of £42,000,000. They said 1.2 tonnes of the illegal substance had washed up on the coast.
Officers are now working with the National Crime Agency and urged anybody who finds anything suspicious on beaches not to touch it and to contact the force instead. A spokesperson said: "We continue to work closely with The NCA around the consignment which washed up on the beach earlier this month.
"Forensic work continues on the substance found in the bags, but we believe it to be cocaine weighing approximately 1,200 kilos. This amount would have a wholesale value of approximately £42 million.
"Like any drug, cocaine can produce unexpected and even dangerous side effects. At its most extreme, an overdose can cause organ damage and may cause death.
"Our investigation continues, and we reiterate to the public that if they find anything suspicious on the beaches, the contents shouldn’t be touched, and police should be contacted immediately."
