A dog had to be rushed for emergency surgery after he was impaled by fallen tree branch in a freak accident.
Guapa was out for a walk with his owners when the horror incident occurred, leaving a large shard of wood protruding from his stomach.
He was immediately taken to Darlington Vet Clinic in Alverton Drive where he had to undergo an operation straight away due to shock, Teeside Live reports.
The pup was put under anaesthetic while veterinarians carefully removed the branch and thoroughly cleaned the wound of debris or splinters.

Thankfully, the stick had not punctured Guapa's chest cavity, and after a lot of love and care is recovering well.
Commenting on their post, the clinic said: "Such a freak accident but thankfully Gorgeous Guapo has the best parents who knew exactly what to do."
Guapo has also had lots of well-wishes from Facebook users commenting on the veterinary clinics' social media post.
One user said: "So pleased he’s made a good recovery. Well done to Guapo's mam for acting so quickly and the DVC team for their expertise and care."
"Poor boy, so happy to see he's recovering well. Brilliant work from Guapo's mum and everyone at Darlington Vet Clinic," another said.
