The injured dog's distraught owner posted on social media to say a “large dog jumped the fence” to instigate the attack.
She said her pet had been left “traumatised” and had undergone surgery to treat its injuries.
The owner reported the attack happened while her husband was walking their dog.
She thanked vets for treating the pet and the public for their support.
