A dog owner has been reunited with her cocker spaniel four years to the day after she was stolen.
Emma Hall, from Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, was left heartbroken when her then seven-month-old puppy, named Edith, was pinched from her home.
After spending months searching for her, Emma and her husband Andy, both 41, had all but given up hope on seeing her again.
But out of the blue they got a call from a vet to say she’d been found 70 miles away.
The dog was discovered on the outskirts of Yeovil, Somerset, just two weeks ago. The woman who spotted her took Edith to the vets where her microchip was scanned.

Emma said: “We received a phone call out of the blue to say Edith had been found and couldn’t really believe it.
“There were lots of tears and we were ecstatic, over the moon.
“To be honest after about six months to a year, we thought we’d never see her again and we were in shock.
“But what a beautiful surprise.”
Emma said Edith had one litter of puppies while she was missing.
“We don’t really know or want to know anything else,” she added. “But she’s home and that’s all that matters now.”
“She is really well and the last two weeks has been with a lovely lady who has cared and looked after her.
“We are so grateful that the lady took her in and went to the vets where she was scanned, this meant she came home.”
