Dog looking for a new home hasn’t had a single viewing since arriving at a shelter 142 days ago

Oakwood Dog Rescue has since launched an appeal to get Epiphany a loving home

A dog shelter in Hull opened its doors to a shy pup 142 days ago – and in a heartbreaking turn of events, she hasn’t had a single viewing the entire time.

Oakwood Dog Rescue in Hull, East Yorkshire has since launched an appeal to find the small mixed-breed canine, Epiphany, a new loving family in time for Christmas.

The four-year-old dog was said to be “very frightened and nervous” but has since started to come out of her shell gradually. The dog shelter said Epiphany requires “lots of time and patience to become more confident with people.”

“She is very stressed in kennels and can be vocal, she will settle much better in a home setting. She can be selective about her doggy friends, so would be best with a very calm male that will not pester her,” the pup’s portfolio read.

The cheeky pup has the tendency to try and escape. Epiphany’s future home would require a secure 6ft fence, with supervision while in the garden.

Epiphany is said to be too nervous to be placed with younger children, and so, a mature home would be ideal. Though she is not currently walking on a lead, staff will show the pup’s future owners how to do this when she is ready.

In a post shared to Facebook on, Oakland Dog Rescue said: “How has Epiphany been with us 133 days and still no viewings?

“Not only is Epiphany absolutely stunning, but she has a larger than life personality and is a true bundle of fun!

“She’s a 4-year-old small/medium-sized cross breed who loves running around & playing with toys, she also enjoys a fuss once she knows you.

“She does enjoy the company of other dogs and could live with a male dog and children 15 years and over.”
