More than 100 bars, cafes, restaurants and hotels across Northern Ireland allow dogs inside their premises.
And the increase in pet-friendly establishments is a result of customer demand.
It is estimated there are around half a million pet dogs in the country in about 350,000 homes.
And while there appears to be some confusion over the rules surrounding dogs dinning rooms, it remains a matter of management discretion.
So if the boss says yes, dog are permitted into businesses serving food as long as they are not in the food preparation areas.
Here with the help of DogLoversNI and many other doggie friends, we list the 110 places where precious pooches are permitted to sit INSIDE with their owners while they're eating or enjoying a coffee or a pint.
Further on we list pubs that allow dogs but do not serve food.
And finally premises where dogs are allowed in covered outdoor areas.
Of course the deal is clear – dogs are welcome if they are clean and well behaved which generally means no barking, toilet accidents or disturbing staff or neighbouring diners.
And nearly every establishment ensures there are divisions between their dog friendly areas and the areas where dogs cannot enter.
For the third year running counties Down and Antrim are leading the way in welcoming pets inside premises.
If you know of more dog friendly establishments, or have a review of any of those listed, let us know and send a picture.
