Stacey Solomon was emotional as she announced the latest addition to Pickle Cottage.
The Loose Women panellist told her 4.9 million Instagram followers last week that she and her family had adopted a rescue cocker spaniel called Teddy to join their pet dachshund Peanut.
While many people were delighted to see mother-of-four Stacey so happy with Teddy following the death of her beloved dog Theo in December, others were not so welcoming reports My London.

One person commented: "I just find it sad rescues don't normally make the adoption process so easy.
"Families normally need older children etc due to not knowing a dogs history. But for celebrities, they break the rules.
"Not even a home visit. Why not give everyone the same treatment regardless of celebrity or not."
Another said: "Can't believe he is a rescue dog, and they just let you take him home, what next will you celebrities be able to do, we would have had to be checked and had a home visit."
A third wrote: "I'd love to know how you do this I had to go and get a puppy as no rescue would let me have a dog due to having a baby you have a toddler and a baby... it's ridiculous that so called normal people can't rescue but famous people can and it doesn't matter about the circumstances.... No hate just it's unfair how the system works why should someone being famous change a dogs life in a rescue centre I may have given a rescue dog just as good life as you?"
But dog and puppy rescue and adoption charity Pro Dogs Direct, who re-home dogs from foster home to forever home, jumped to Stacey’s defence.
They said the star's home was vetted and she followed their adoption process.
Today (Saturday January 22) Stacey said Teddy is settling in 'so well' and 'loves the little pickles so much.'
She wrote: "Over 70 thousand of you followed the rescue centre we adopted Teddy from and that is incredible.
"So many more people will now see the amazing work that they do and also so many more potential homes for dogs who really need it."
The charity wrote on Instagram: "We treat each dog as an individual - lots of our dogs, sadly the majority, cannot be homed with young children because of their past or lack of information about their past.
"Teddy is great with children, he has a fab temperament and is now in a great home. We know that it is difficult when you have children, and we wish all of our dogs could be homed with children.
"They can't but those that can we will state and home with children if it is the right home for the dog.
"Each dog is individual and each of our applicants are too. Please be kind we are all wanting the same thing and that is to see all animals safe and loved."
They added: "Yes we have rehomed one of our dogs to @staceysolomon and her family. Yes she followed our adoption process, yes she completed an application form, yes her home was vetted, and no she did not adopt a dog in 24hours.
“It is so very sad that the minority cannot be happy that a rescue dog has found a great home where he will be loved and looked after - we couldn't be happier for Teddy and his new family... Thank you to all who are happy for Teddy."
missgreedyshome told Stacey: "Omg he is adorable so happy for Peanut and you all xxxxx"
Former Big Brother winner Kate Lawler exclaimed: "OMG Teddy! What a lucky boy and thank you for rescuing Stacey, so many doggies out there in need of furever homes. #adoptdontshop x"
And niktay1982 said: "Well all I can say he has hit the jackpot with you guys ! He is perfect."
