A man who agreed to take drugs to friends at a festival was rumbled by a sniffer dog at the gate. And he ended up in court.
Jack Wilson initially denied having anything on him as he tried to get into the NASS Festival at the Bath and West Showground in Somerset in July last year. But an investigation revealed he had cocaine and ecstasy and police were alerted.
Wilson, 24, of Bristol Road Lower, Weston-super-Mare, pleaded guilty to possessing the Class A drugs with intent to supply. The recorder Mr David Chidgey gave him a 12-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months, as well as 200 hours' unpaid work.

The recorder told Wilson: "Don't deal drugs again. Whether taking something in for friends, or taking drugs in to sell them, this is Class A."
Alistair Haggerty, prosecuting, told Bristol Crown Court that Wilson tried to access the NASS Festival via the yellow gate but a drugs dog indicated the presence of substances. At first Wilson said he had no drugs on him, but then conceded he had "a couple of bags of white powder and pills".
It transpired the 24-year-old had some 10g of cocaine and 16 ecstasy tablets. The total value of drugs he had was deemed to be £1,320.
Wilson gave a prepared statement to police in which he said he was asked by friends to pick up a package and bring it to the festival. David Leathley, defending, said: "He is suitable for unpaid work. I find him sociable and gregarious. He has no antisocial traits."
