Leeds United kick-off their FA Cup campaign with a third round tie against Cardiff City on Sunday. The Whites travel to the Cardiff City Stadium after registering back-to-back draws in the Premier League against Newcastle United and West Ham respectively.
Cardiff are currently enduring a wretched run of form and are winless in their last seven league games. Mark Hudson has come under scrutinising pressure as a result, with the Bluebirds sitting just two points above the relegation zone in 20th place.
Jesse Marsch's men will be looking to end a run of five straight third round exits in the FA Cup. The Whites famously won this competition under Don Revie in 1972, and have also finished runners-up on three occasions in their history.
The hosts have also won the FA Cup all the way back in the 1927, and finished runners-up two years earlier. They memorably reached the final in 2008, but lost out to Portsmouth at Wembley Stadium. In more recent years, Cardiff have only progressed beyond the third round once in the last four seasons.
Here are the rules regarding replays, extra-time and penalties for this year's third round.

Will there be a replay if third round ties end in a draw?
Yes. A replay will be required if the match ends in a draw at the end of normal time. Due to Covid-affected fixture lists in the last two seasons, the FA changed the rules and scrapped replays in the third and fourth rounds to avoid any further fixture congestion.
However, it is back to normal for this season and therefore the two teams will head to Elland Road if there is not a winner at the Cardiff City Stadium inside 90 minutes.
Extra-time and penalties will take place at the end of normal time in the replay if the two teams still cannot be separated.
When is the fourth round?
The fourth round is scheduled to take place later in the month over the weekend starting Saturday, January 28.
When would a replay be likely?
If the game does end in a draw, Leeds will have a three-week window from Sunday to fit the replay in. The Whites have a nine-day gap between their fixtures against Aston Villa (Jan 13) and Brentford (Jan 22), which could be an ideal window if a replay is required.
