Doer-upper homes on the market from £100k terrace to 11 bed mansion

With the property market the way it is at the moment, many buyers are turning to renovation projects in a bid to make the most of their investment.

Going for something that needs a bit more love than the average house in that area might mean a bigger outlay at first, but could lead to bigger rewards when you eventually come to sell. You might also get more for your money in a dream location.

The ECHO has taken a look at the best fixer upper properties on the market across Merseyside right now. These include massive manors, Victorian red bricks, 1930s semis and classic two-up two-downs.

Garth Drive, Aigburth

On Garth Drive in Allerton is a stunning period home for sale for £925,000. Despite the hefty price tag, any buyer willing to take this on could reap endless rewards.

The house is within walking distance to the picturesque Calderstones Park and has five bedrooms and one bathroom on a "substantial" plot of land, according to agent Find Your Eden. It was built in the early 1920s and has a number of gorgeous period features, as well as a generous mature garden.

Dorbett Drive, Crosby

In Crosby , positioned between the coast and the leafy Rimrose Valley Country Park, is a three-bed home on Dorbett Drive.

The listing by Entwistle Green describes it as "an ideal investment opportunity for first time buyers".

The property is on the market for offers over £210,000 and while it is in need of modernisation, it certainly has the bones of a perfect family home. There are two reception rooms, a galley kitchen, two large bedrooms, a smaller bedroom and a family bathroom.

Durham Road, Crosby

Also in Crosby, off the main thoroughfare of Crosby Road, is a two-up two-down on Durham Road which is on the market for just £100,000.

Inside is relatively spacious; the front room has a bay window, with coving and ceiling roses overhead. The kitchen and bedrooms are also a decent size, while the bathroom boasts a bath and walk-in shower unit.

The end of terrace is also just a stone's throw from Waterloo and Seaforth & Litherland train stations.

The rear yard needs some work but there is potential to create an oasis in the concrete.

Rockfield Road, Anfield

On Rockfield Road, near Stanley Park , is a terraced house on the market for £100,000. A huge chunk of the work has already been done, with the property back to brick and totally ripped out.

The front door is up a number of quaint stone steps and a through lounge has already been created. There are three bedrooms upstairs.

The house is on the market with Priory Property Services and is a cash sale only.

Walton Village

Nestled between two of the busiest roads in north Liverpool - Queens Drive and County Road - is a hidden gem of a property in Walton Village. This project would not be for the faint of heart; previously used as office space, the building has a staggering 11 potential bedrooms.

Despite the space being littered with long forgotten office supplies, the bones of the house remain. There is ornate coving, fireplaces, solid doors and a pair of stunning floor to ceiling bay windows.

The property is on the market for a guide price of £400,000 and is set to go under the hammer with auctioneer IAmSold.
