Krishna district Superintendent of Police (SP) Siddharth Kaushal has said that Dy. SPs, Station House Officers (SHOs) and other officers should develop leadership qualities and perform their duties ethically and morally.
Participating in a workshop on ‘Police station management’, the SP asked CIs, SIs and ASIs to come forward to take up the responsibility, improve skills and render justice to the complainants.
Mr. Kaushal appealed to the officers to take care of the health of their subordinates in the stations, meet all the staff once in a week, greet the policemen in the stations during birthdays, wedding anniversaries and whenever they have some achievements.
The officers should organise a get-together once in a month, enquire about the health of the staff, education, and interact with their family members, which will help the staff relieve stress and develop a bond, the SP said.
Stating that a leader should be a teacher, Mr. Siddharth advised the DSPs and CIs to teach the staff on some topic, which would help them in improving their skills, collecting evidences and investigation techniques.
“The officers should make best use of the staff in each police station and improve professional and friendly policing in the district. CIs and SIs should understand the condition and problem of the complainant, receive the complaint and try to solve the grievance,” the SP said.
Earlier, senior advocate K. Sai Mohan and psychologist Indla Ramsubba Reddy provided tips to the officers. Trainee IPS officer A. Jagadish, DSPs B. Srinivasulu, N. Satyanandam, Mehaboob Basha, G. Nageswar Reddy, ACP K. Hanumantha Rao and other officers participated.
