Over the weekend, a story about a mum hit with a £50 parking fine after a trip to Heaton Park caused lots of debate among our readers.
On a trip up north from Watford, Amanda Foxman found herself slapped with the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) for parking beyond the bay markings after taking a stroll around the park with her family.
The charge is set to be contested, and we want to know if you think the fine was fair or not.
Do you think the judgement from the council has been too harsh? Share your thoughts in our comments section.
Despite paying for parking via an app, Amanda still received the fine and went on to explain: "“The only thing I didn’t realise at the time is that the bay didn’t have a white T marking on the floor, like the other bays.
"But I wasn’t obstructing anyone, I wasn't causing any issues at all. There was nothing to say there was no parking."
In response to the situation, the council have advised the fine is 'fully enforceable' and that it was issued because the car was parked 'outside the bay markings'.
Some readers have already shared their support, with one saying: "Absolutely no problems I can see where she has parked. It's pathetic!"
Another shared their experience, saying: " I parked on a car park and paid the fee using the ticket machine on the street."
"I got a PCN because I used the wrong machine to pay. I tried to challenge the fine but was told the street machine is for street parking only. There was nothing to make this clear at all."
Do you think the fine is a fair one? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
