Manchester airport has long been the place where people from Merseyside have begun their summer holidays but recently the airport has come in for criticism over long waiting times and chaos at departure.
Although it's still clearly a much smaller airport Liverpool John Lennon has however come a long way from its Speke Airport days with flights all over Europe but crucially no inter-continental connections. Consumer watchdog Which? have just named Manchester Airport the worst in Britain with the three terminals coming bottom for customer satisfaction.
T3 scored a paltry 38 out of 100, as reported by the Mirror. Manchester’s T1 scored a 41 and T2 a meagre 47, just ahead of Heathrow’s Terminal 4 and Belfast International on 48.
The airport was awarded just one star out of five for the queues at security gates, seating, prices in shops and the range of retailers available. Fed-up holidaymakers slated it as “chaotic”, “heaving”, and “an end-to-end shambles” in the Which? survey.
However Liverpool John Lennon airport tied in second place with Exeter on 83 each. The top spot was taken by Doncaster. Manchester airport apologised to passengers and said coming out of the Covid lockdown had left it facing “unprecedented challenges as demand returned rapidly to the market”.
