Lidl have issued an urgent 'do not consume' notice in a recall for one of its popular popcorn products due to excess pesticide.
The recall notice, affecting both Ireland and Northern Ireland, is for a batch of salted microwave popcorn by the brand Snaktastic sold in Lidl stores throughout the country.
Customers who may have purchased products from the affected batch, 22335, have been asked to return the item to one of Lidl's relevant stores, with or without the receipt, after which they will receive a full refund.
In a statement, Lidl said: "Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland are recalling the above Snacktastic Salted Microwave Popcorn, Batch 22335 Best Before 02/12/2024 due to a pesticide being detected above the maximum legal level."
The affected product comes in the 3x100g size packs.
"If you have purchased the above product, please do not consume it," the notice read.
Customers have been ensured that they will receive a full refund, regardless of whether they have a receipt or not.
Lidl Ireland added: "Lidl wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused. Any customers with queries or concerns can contact our Customer Services Team on the numbers below."
