Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard revealed that the Biden administration was aware of inappropriate and unprofessional conversations happening on internal agency messaging boards within national intelligence entities for years. Gabbard stated that whistleblowers from the National Security Agency reported the issue to official channels under the Biden administration but were dismissed.
Gabbard attributed the existence of these chatrooms to the Biden administration's focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies. She mentioned that the discussions had been ongoing for two years before being shut down following President Trump's executive order to end DEI initiatives across the federal government.
Upon discovering the chats, Gabbard took swift action by directing agencies to terminate over 100 individuals involved and revoke their security clearances. She emphasized that these employees had breached the trust placed in them to handle sensitive national security matters.

Gabbard highlighted the significant financial savings achieved by dismantling the DEI center established under the Biden administration. She estimated that taxpayers saved nearly $20 million by eliminating the center and an additional $3 to 4 million by canceling DEI conferences that employees would attend.
During a recent meeting with various Cabinet officials, including Elon Musk and former President Trump, Gabbard described the atmosphere as energetic. She noted that the officials were inspired by the efficient work done by Trump and Musk in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
