Bournemouth have received a tongue-in-cheek message from a Premier League club after being beaten by Liverpool.
The Reds claimed a 9-0 win over Bournemouth to break their own record for the biggest win in the Premier League era. A brace apiece for Roberto Firmino and Luis Diaz, combined with goals from Fabio Carvalho, Harvey Elliott, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and a Chris Mepham own goal secured the victory.
It was Liverpool’s first win of the campaign, after amassing just two points from their first three fixtures. Jurgen Klopp and his players will now prepare to face Newcastle United in midweek.

Liverpool’s win also equalled the record for the biggest win across the entire Premier League era. Manchester United have achieved that feat twice with two 9-0 scorelines, while Leicester City have also racked up the same win.
Of those three 9-0 scorelines, Southampton have been on the losing side twice. After Liverpool’s victory, the Saint’s Twitter account aimed a jovial dig at Bournemouth.
While quote tweeting Bournemouth’s post about the final score, Southampton’s account wrote: “DM us if you need to talk, Bournemouth”.
