DK Metcalf went on live TV and called out Tyreek Hill for a race between the two to see who is the quickest player in the NFL.
Metcalf was on FOX Sports ' UNDISPUTED on Wednesday, and told hosts Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless that he's been attempting to set up a race for as long as two years. Appearing on the show, the Seattle Seahawks said: "Look, I had my people contact his people, we still couldn't come to an agreement. We’ve been trying to do this for two years now.
"We haven’t come to an agreement in two years but you’ve seen me running in a track meet, I didn’t race against no 30-year-olds but whenever you wanna get this done, let me know."
Metcalf's jab at Hill on his 'race against 30-year-old's' was aimed at the recent USA Track & Field Masters Indoor Championship, in which Hill easily won the 60-yard race with a 6.70 time.
Hill has regularly claimed to be the quickest player in the NFL, with a nickname of 'Cheetah', as he celebrates by putting two fingers up at defensive players when he scores - taunting them in insinuating that he's too quick for them.
But Metcalf certainly can stake a claim at being the quickest, after competing with legitimate sprinting stars when he performed at the Olympic qualifiers, posting a 10.37 time in the 100-metre dash - despite being as much as FIVE STONE heavier than other racers - while weighing 240lbs.
Metcalf stated that the reason the two could not come to an agreement on a race, was that Hill would have wanted it to be held in July - an issue for the Seahawks receiver with it being too close to the football season, with his weight fluctuating between sprinting and playing football.
The receivers are two of the best players at the position on the field, but it remains to be seen who is actually the fastest. While Hill did run a faster 40-time in their respective combines, Metcalf has generated the higher top-end speed in the NFL.
Metcalf topped out at 22.64 miles per hour when he made the famous play to chase down Budda Baker on an interception, running over 100 yards to chase down the safety for a tackle.
Hill's top-end posted speed had been a time of 22.60, when he scored a touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings in 2019. Hill's playing weight is listed at 191 lbs, with Metcalf being 44 pounds heavier at 235.
