Djokovic Vs Alcaraz H2H Record: Which Star Leads The Way?

The Novak Djokovic vs Carlos Alcaraz H2H record earned another exciting chapter after their 2025 Australian Open quarter-final showdown on Tuesday.

Djokovic got the better of the super Spaniard in Melbourne to progress to the last four. Now, just Alexander Zverev stands in the way of what would be a record-extending 11th final appearance.

Amazingly, Djokovic has won all ten of his previous encounters. His first came back in 2008 and his most recent victory occurred in 2023.

Historically, no player has won the men’s singles title more times than Djokovic. That includes the Amateur Era and the Open Era. Even new nemesis Carlos Alcaraz found it extremely hard to contest with Nole on his ‘playground.’

Already, the pair have shared some legendary tennis matches going back to their first encounter in 2022. But after the 37-year-old’s latest win, how does the Djokovic vs Alcaraz H2H record shape up?

Novak Djokovic Beats Carlos Alcaraz

Despite going a set down, Novak Djokovic beat Carlos Alcaraz 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-4 in the 2025 Australian Open quarter-final. The duo were trading shots well past midnight local time!

That in itself just goes to show how intense the rivalry has become. For a short time, it appeared that the Spanish sensation would go on and beat the Serbinator.

However, it wasn’t to be as Nole fought back to win the next three sets to book a semi-final berth. In doing so, Djokovic is the first male in the Open Era to reach the last four of a singles Grand Slam event on 50 occasions.

If that wasn’t impressive enough, the 37-year-old has now won his 99th match at the Australian Open. According to the best tennis betting sites in the UK, Djokovic is 5/2 to go all the way for an 11th time Down Under.

After the blockbuster showdown, Djokovic explained to courtside reporters how he wished the latest battle with Alcaraz was in fact the final.

Firstly I want to give my upmost respect and admiration for Carlos and everything he stands for – and what he has achieved so far in his young career,” said Djokovic.

What a terrific guy he is and even better competitor… I just wish that this match today was the final, honestly. It’s one of the most epic matches I’ve played on this court – on any court, really.”

Novak Djokovic Vs Carlos Alcaraz H2H Record

The Novak Djokovic vs Carlos Alcaraz H2H record now sits firmly in the favour of the Serbian superstar. Tuesday’s quarter-final victory demonstrated how the master is still teaching the apprentice.

Djokovic and Alcaraz’s maiden clash came at the ATP Masters 1000 Madrid semi-final in 2022. On that day, the Spaniard won in front of a delighted home following.

In 2023, the duo ramped up their rivalry by clashing on four separate occasions. The Serb levelled proceedings by winning in the semi-final at the French Open.

Alcaraz then announced himself to the world when he won his first Wimbledon title and second Grand Slam event. The 21-year-old got the better of Djokovic in a five-set thriller.

From the Serbinator’s perspective, normal service was resumed when he won the following two matches. The first in the ATP Masters 1000 Cincinnati final then the semis of the ATP Nitto Finals.

Last year, Alcaraz repeated his Wimbledon success against Djokovic by smashing the Serb in straight sets in SW19. That victory was his fourth major victory.

The last meeting between the two (prior to the 2025 Australian Open) came in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Djokovic took home the gold medal for Serbia to claim a 5-3 lead.
