Djed Spence's first words on Tottenham transfer, Ryan Sessegnon and what he will bring to Spurs

Djed Spence has finally completed his move to Tottenham from Middlesbrough. Signing for a fee of £12.5million rising to £20million with add-ons, the England U21 international has penned a five-year contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

His move to N17 brings an end to his protracted transfer saga, with the player heavily linked with a move to Spurs for some time. Spence becomes Tottenham's sixth signing of the summer, joining Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Clement Lenglet, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison at the club.

Sitting down with SpursTV to speak about his Tottenham transfer, Spence revealed it is a dream come true to have joined a club of Spurs' stature and he cannot wait to get to work with his new teammates, including Ryan Sessegnon, who he knows very well from Fulham as a youngster.

"To be in the Premier League and a big club like Tottenham is a dream come true. I'm just thankful that I've got here and going to get the opportunity to play for the club," he told Spurs TV. "Everyone wants to play in the Premier League. As a kid you watch it, that was a target of mine. Big club, Champions League football and obviously you have some of the best players that play here. It's a privilege to be here.

"Last year we won promotion with Nottingham Forest and it was just a great season for me. It was the stuff of dreams, really. I can't wait to meet the players, the staff and the manager and just train with everyone and gel with the team.

"I grew up with Ryan [Sessegnon] at Fulham, through the ranks from U12s to U16s. We played a Premier League tournament together and won that. He went with the first team at a young age and obviously his career has gone very well so far."

On what he will bring to Tottenham, he added: "I bring excitement, skill, speed, I just want to excite the fans and play well. To just be prepared to work hard. I'm a very chilled character, I'm very humble and everything is about football with me. I've dedicated my whole life to it, nothing else but just football, football, football really.
