Tottenham Hotspur are expected to hold further talks with Middlesbrough over a potential summer transfer for Djed Spence, according to reports.
Spence shone in Steve Cooper’s Forest side last season, playing a big part in the team’s promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs. He spent last season on loan at the City Ground, playing a total of 42 times in the Championship, scoring twice.
While Forest are keen to make his move permanent this summer as they prepare for their first season in the Premier League in 23 years, his performances for the club also caught the eye of Tottenham Hotspur. Antonio Conte’s men have been heavily linked with a move for the England U21 international.

According to Sky Sports initial talks between Tottenham and Middlesbrough didn’t lead to an agreement with the two clubs apart on a potential price. It is said that Boro are looking for a fee of around £15 million while Spurs don’t want to pay more than £10 million.
The report says that Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy is set to hold more talks with Middlebrough this week. It is added that Spence is ‘determined’ to make the move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.
Forest now seem to be looking at alternative options to Spence in the summer window. NottinghamshireLive understands that Wales and Liverpool full-back Neco Williams is of interest to the club.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are reportedly ready to cash in this summer and are said to be looking for a fee of around £15 million. The full-back lined up alongside Brennan Johnson in the recent international break.
Forest also hold an interest in Manchester City full-back Issa Kabroe. The 21-year-old spent last season on loan with French side Troyes where he impressed with his performances in Ligue 1.
