The Bears and Panthers sent shockwaves around the NFL on Friday after agreeing to a trade that sent the No. 1 overall pick to Carolina. And, while the stunning move caught many by surprise, it’s unlikely anyone was more taken aback by the news than one of the deal’s centerpieces: wide receiver DJ Moore.
The fifth-year pro was the only player involved in the blockbuster trade that sent multiple draft picks, including the 2023 ninth overall pick, to Chicago in exchange for the top selection in next month’s draft. Shortly after the announcement, Moore weighed in on the deal on Twitter with a hilarious tweet that only included two screaming face emojis.

As evidenced by his reaction, Moore clearly felt strongly about Friday’s news, which likely produced similar responses from executives around the league as teams prepare for Day 1 of the draft on April 27.
As for the star wideout, Moore, the 24th pick in 2018, departs the Panthers following a 7–10 campaign in which he finished with 63 receptions, 888 yards and a career-high seven touchdowns in 17 starts. The Maryland product’s career totals of 364 receptions and 5,201 yards rank fourth and fifth in franchise history, respectively.
