Music producer DJ Mighty Mouse has died "suddenly" at his home in Spain.
The artist, who's real name is Matthew Ward, is understood to have suffered an aortic aneurysm.
Matthew's death was announced by UK label Defected Records, revealing he died last Thursday.
A post from the label said: "We are devastated to confirm that Matthew Ward aka Mighty Mouse, died suddenly last Thursday at his home in Spain.
"We are all lost without his enormous presence and talent.
"Our thoughts are with his partner, Ellen, and his Mum, Judy, as well as his wider family and many, many friends and fans.
"We would ask you to please respect the family’s privacy at this terrible time," it read.
Tributes to the musician began to pour in via the comments section of the Facebook post.
One fan wrote: "One of the best, huge loss. I'm so glad I've been able to hear what he made over the years."
While another added: "Rest in Peace Matt. You gave me and our mates some of the best laughs of our lives. Your Brighton folk miss you already. Just so sad x".
"Terribly sad news deepest condolences RIP," a third wrote.
Meanwhile, musicians also shared their respects as DJ Simon Dunmore said: "Sending love & condolences to Matthew’s family & friends. RIP Mighty Mouse."
Friend Within musician Lee Mortimer added: "Such sad news.
"An amazing musical talent. RIP Mighty Mouse."
While DJ Jason Dee wrote: "Saw him in Sydney in 2019 supporting Late Nite Tuff Guy and he was excellent.
"He played his remix of Abba and it rocked the place.
"This was long before his edit was heavily supported the world over."
Days before his death, the DJ posted to his Instagram about his newest release, which is a remix to Ridney and Inaya Day's track Like You.
As he posted a clip of the tune on Instagram, he wrote: "I got a new remix out (on all Platforms). Loads of ace support and it goes down really well in the club. It’s by the lovely @ridney and @inayaday."
Fans paid tribute to the DJ in the comments of his final post as one said: "Rest in peace!! Gone but not forgotten ".
"RIP dude," another added while a third said: "R.I.E.P Mighty Mouse..."
The DJ was due to perform at Halloween events in Newcastle and Barcelona over the coming weekend, according to his website.
