'Diva' tot turns face into 'beetroot' after covering it with mum's red lipstick to look like favourite Disney character

A 'diva' tot's attempt to become her favourite Disney cartoon character hilariously backfired after she covered her entire face in red lipstick - leaving her in floods of tears and looking 'like a beetroot'.

Isla Forrester watches Pixar's latest hit Turning Red 'every day', so when mum Corrinne Forrester thought she was sleeping on Tuesday April 12, she saw the chance to transform into its bright red panda.

The four-year-old stole her mum's long-lasting Revolution lipstick from her make-up box and used up the entire stick covering her face with it before dozing off on her bed as it dried.

Hilarious footage shows dad Curtis Forrester, 28, carrying the tired-looking four-year-old into the living room with her whole face bright red 'like a beetroot'.

Her parents can't contain their laughter and when they tell the confused tot to look into the mirror she bursts into tears upon releasing she hadn't quite achieved her desired look.

Isla then had a screaming 'meltdown' as Corrinne, 32, scrubbed her face with a flannel to remove the lipstick, but they couldn't rid her eyebrows or hairline of the colouring until the next day.

When quizzed about the bizarre makeover the troublesome tot confirmed she was trying to mimic Turning Red character Mei Lee, who transforms into a red panda as soon as she gets excited.

Corrinne, from Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, said: "I found it so funny straight away. Her face was completely red.

"When we questioned her about it she just said she wanted to be the panda from Turning Red. She's the biggest Disney fan and we watch that film every day.

"It was very quiet, so we thought she'd been playing with her toys and crashed out, then Curtis came upstairs to check on her and he found her in our bed with a massive beetroot face.

"It wasn't just a 'wipe over and it's done with'. She went through the whole stick. She did a thorough job and that's Isla. All or nothing.

"When she was carried down she was still a bit daydreamy. She even says she doesn't want mummy to see it, but it was me recording.

"When she sees herself in the mirror her face drops like she doesn't know what she'd done. I don't know what goes on in her mind.

"She didn't want anyone to talk to her. She told us to stop laughing and to go away. I can't be angry with her. I just started thinking about how I'm going to get it off.

"It was hard to scrub off. If it was on your face as a lady then it would be a good thing to wear out. But for a four-year-old it's not.

"I told her she has her own make-up and she sits there with a face like thunder and she didn't really have an answer."

Corrinne, who also lives with her two other children Bentley Forrester, eight, and Amie-May Ross, 13, says she's learned her lesson and has moved the make-up box out of reach.

She had to use a flannel, make-up wipes, make-up remover and shower gel to get the red colouring out of Isla's hair and eyebrows - all while she was having a 'meltdown'

The mum of three says high-heel loving 'diva' Isla thinks she's the 'princess of the town' and they even have 'mum and daughter days' when they do each other's make-up.

School security worker Corrinne is pleased it's the Easter holidays because she isn't sure if Isla would have been cleaned up in time for the nursery.

Her video, posted less than an hour after the incident, has been liked more than 200 times, with users finding Isla's makeover attempt hilarious.

Corrinne's post said: "Something to tickle you all. My darling four-year-old!

"For context, she was playing quietly so we suspected she was asleep. In fact, what she did was wreck my lipstick, paint her face red with it and then fell asleep in my bed.

"Happy Tuesday people!"

One user commented: "Awwww bless her, this age they do the funniest things"

A second said: "bless her, 'Mummy will see my face' .

Corrinne replied: "Mummy was recording haha I don't think she fully woke up lol."

A third added: "That's hilarious."
