Disturbing footage captures the moment a man is hit by a car and attacked by three thugs.
The victim is seen standing on the corner of a road in Rock Ferry, at around 3pm on Monday, May 1, when a BMW swings around the corner and hits him.
The three thugs emerge from the BMW with weapons and proceed to start beating into the victim before getting back into the motor and speeding off, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Cops raced to the scene and confirmed that they later arrested a suspect in connection with the incident. The 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and affray and remains in police custody.
He was caught after police officers found the BMW, with a cracked windscreen in Birkenhead. The motor has been seized and will be forensically examined.
Inspector Danny Murphy said: "We were called to reports of a local man being run over by a dark coloured BMW and then assaulted by three men who had got out of the car. Following the assault they escaped in the BMW. Incredibly, the victim sustained superficial injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
"A short while after the incident video of the attack was circulated on social media. Following a search of the area officers located a blue BMW, with a cracked windscreen, which is believed to have been involved in the attack, on Raffles Road and arrested a 31-year-old man from Tranmere on suspicion of assault and affray.
